Frequently Asked Questions

If your questions are not answered below, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Yes. All sessions are offered virtually through a secure video platform, allowing you to access therapy from anywhere in Canada.

*Please note that sessions cannot be held in-person. This is a virtual only clinic.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy at this time, your goals, relevant background information, and any questions you may have about the therapy process.

There is no pressure to share everything all at once! We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Many extended health benefit plans covers services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Coverage varies by provider and plan, so I always recommend checking directly with your insurance company regarding your specifc benefits.

Receipts are provided after each session for reimbursement purposes.

This depends on your goals and circumstances! Many clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions and adjust frequency as needed over time. Some people attend therapy for a few months to work through a specific challenge they are facing, while others choose longer-term support for ongoing growth and self-understanding.

There is no right or wrong answer! If you are unsure what you are looking for in terms of length and frequency of therapy, we can always discuss it together.

Please visit the booking page for current service fees and availability.

That is completely okay! I'll guide you through the process and am happy to answer any questions you have along the way. There is no expectation that you know what to say or how therapy "should" work.

Yes, absolutely! Many people feel nervous before starting therapy. Building trust takes time, and you are never expected to share more than you're comfortable with sharing. We will move at a pace that feels right for you.

Finding the right therapist is important! In fact, research has shown that the therapeutic alliance is the single strongest predictor of successful therapy. If it feels like we're may not be the best fit for any reason, I'll do my best to help connect you with resources or professionals who may better meet your needs.

This is more common than you might think! Some sessions have a clear focus, while others begin with simply exploring what's been on your mind lately. We will work together to identify what feels important to discuss each session.

Not at all! Many people come to therapy because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of what they need. You don't need to have a specific concern, be in crisis, or have a diagnosis to benefit from therapy!

Nope! My role isn't to tell you how to live your life or make decisions for you. Instead, I can provide psychoeducation and help you explore your experiences, identify patterns, develop skills, and make choices that align with your values and goals.

You are the expert of yourself!
